Task 23: Feedback
I now know a lot more about social networking tools and Web 2.0 technologies than I did at the beginning of this program. I have enjoyed learning about Flicker, Library Things, Funny Image Generator, Google Maps, Encore , YouTube and iGoogle. I will definitely be using some of these tools in the future. Good program for personal development. It is a handy skill to have but as yet, I haven't had to use these skills to help students.

Task 18: Encore
Encore is a great innovative way to find materials in the library catalogue and is easy to navigate. Patrons can also see other tags and keywords which might be helpful to them. Spellcheck is also a great feature.
Task 20: YouTube Video
Please see below a link to a YouTube video on the Library of Alexandria:

Task 15: Google Book Search and Google Scholar
Google Book Search is a interesting research tool to use. I used the Advanced Book Search and located a few books by Dan Brown written in Chinese. It is great that one can preview the books before purchasing them.
Google Scholar is great as a research tool for articles. I looked up the author, Maeve Binchy and found some recent articles and citations related to her. I also could look up which libraries hold her books . I found that option very useful. I will be using these tools from now on.

Task 12: Explore MySpace and Facebook
I have created an account on Facebook and have added a couple of friends. I find Facebook more user friendly than MySpace in terms of locating old school friends and keeping in touch with current friends whereas MySpace seems to cater for teenagers and young adults.

Task 13 : Google Maps
Google maps is a fantastic tool. I had a great time locating all the places I had been to on my overseas trips using the satellite ,zoom in and zoom out buttons. I also located where I live using the street view button. One can spend hours just using this one tool.
